Regression therapy using hypnosis
Regression therapy is a wonderful way of allowing the client to search into their past to find and review memories.
Can you imagine the useless clutter that would gather in your head if you brain remembered absolutely every single moment that happened in your life? To prevent this overload of useless information being built up the brain filters out the mundane stuff and stores away anything it considers worth remembering. The stuff it keeps could be called momentous moments. So it therefore follows that if something unusual or of interest occurs the brain will retain that memory.
Regression therapy is a fantastic tool for revisiting memories and then re-evaluating them with new knowledge. For example if an important event happened when you were six years old you would have evaluated that event using your six years worth of experience. By re-visiting that event and looking at it with an adult perspective that memory can be re-processed and re-evaluated.
It is important to remember that the memories of what happened to the individual at the time are not the absolute truth, just that individual’s experience.
The subconscious mind uses pictures, sounds, feelings, smells and tastes to represent experiences.
Words don’t describe our feelings exactly because our language is limited. For example our internal symbolic representation of children could be a white fluffy cloud floating in a bright blue sky. The symbols that the subconscious use describe each individuals experience exactly and are specific to that person.
Negative symbols can be changed for positive symbols while in a trance altering the internal representation.
Because you are using people’s exact representation of a feeling with a symbol, long lasting changes can be made.
Hypnotic Parts Therapy
We are a whole person but internally we have different parts that take on responsibility for different jobs. For example when we want to show our love, a part comes forward that is responsible for love. When we are in danger a different part comes forward that deals with survival etc. When all our parts are working harmoniously together we have inner calm.
If we have conflicting parts or a part that is doing the wrong job we have inner conflict and will feel unsettled.
I am sure that all of us recognize when making a decision sometimes that one part of us wants to do one thing and another part of us wants to do the opposite. This is when our parts are conflicting.
Faced with certain situations some people get angry when the best thing for them to be is calm. They can’t help it; it’s just that the wrong part is coming forward to deal with these situations.
Hypnotic Parts Therapy negotiates changes of rolls and understanding so that all your internal parts work together to accomplish inner calm
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP therapy deals with how we are processing problems in the now. In NLP the past is the past and we live in the now and for the future.
Any negative experiences that we had in the past are gone but if we can’t stop reliving them now we will have a problem.
In NLP we ignore the past and focus on changing how we think about these old events in the now by changing and spoiling them.
